Hand-knotted Afghan carpet · Kızıl Kule, Alanya · 2nd Türkiye Textile Biennial · 2025

Frangipani is a hand-knotted Afghan carpet of 6 m², woven at a density of 45 × 45 knots per cm.
The work was exhibited at Kızıl Kule — the Red Tower, the historic Seljuk fortification of Alanya — as part of the 2nd Türkiye Textile Biennial, “Dalga Kumaş” (Wave Fabric), curated by Nihat Özdal. Spread across the archaeological sites of Alanya and Gazipaşa, the biennial traced textile through history, archaeology and the Mediterranean.
