Moment Room
Hotel room intervention, 6 screens, bed · Resistance Exhibition · The Artisan Hotel, Istanbul
Just like place memories and human memories, nature also has memories. Nature and humanity create everything that happens together. Whatever it is now, wherever you are, whatever condition you are in, you write this memory with nature.
This room was created to show how each person can influence the memory they write while creating their communication with nature, and to remind you of all the possibilities on a timeline — your relationship with nature, its impact on the world, and its place in your memory.
Humanity has caused terrible damage to the world in which it lived until just before this moment. Could it change from now on? Can soil, air and water make peace with man despite his actions? Now we are here, calmly. Memories created in the past — can they create better memories with you in the future?
As the videos in this room progress, changing at both ends, some areas become cellular through a reverse distortion algorithm; others soften into a distortion that resembles growth and proliferation. As individuals, we are still a part of nature and have a place in its memory with every moment we are and everything we do.
