Mycorrhiza

Mycorrhiza takes its starting point from the Wood Wide Web — the invisible underground network that connects a forest — yet it does not reproduce nature one-to-one. Its fibrous, winding, organic structure resembles a digital tissue that rebuilds the roots’ principles of solidarity through technology.
Mycorrhiza is the symbiotic union formed when the roots of a plant and the threads of a fungus bind together. Together, they create a web of life that neither could form alone.
The installation is a practice of “network-making” that seeks to make the invisible visible — so that it may bloom. It suggests that we can reweave the ideas of connection, solidarity, trust, sustainability and unseen communication in an organic–digital form. By abstracting the morphology of nature’s mycorrhizal system, it reveals the holistic intelligence of living structures that inspires both biological and technological organisation. The flower stands for illumination, togetherness, living, and a state of being held in trust.
